Virtual worlds and citizenship...
My findings... unfortunately I kept getting an error report stating that my computer doesn't have the minimum requirements to run Second life....it kept crashing. I went as far as I could and then did research on Second life to find out what I had missed out on....
Its a virtual world, although it seems as though reality is encroaching in on it, mainly due to laws from different countries which could make Linden Labs liable (gambling).
People can create an account which will allow the user to develop an 'avatar' and they can travel to different areas of the 'Grid' interacting with whoever they come in contact with.
There have been voiced concerns about some of the attitudes found in Second Life. This is the interesting part as the site is user regulated or rather user non-regulated...content driven by the users, virtual sex seems to be popular. Another interesting note is the push for 'Educational' opportunities...perhaps they are trying to clean up the site/world!!!!!
